Pineapple is one of the healthiest tropical fruit that has a sweet taste. It has a high nutritional value. It is not only delicious but also provides many benefits for the bones, skin, and digestion. The pectin in pineapple gives it a pleasantly chewy texture, which makes it one of the favorite fruit of peoples.

The enzyme bromelain found in the pineapple can break down proteins in the stomach and enhance the system of digestion. It also reverses diabetes by reducing inflammation in the pancreas.

Pineapple is good for our health, but some people may experience mild allergic reactions like abdominal pain, diarrhea, vomiting, headache, dizziness, swollen lips, and tingling sensation after consuming pineapple, etc. The enzymes present in pineapple can cause allergic reactions. Use saltwater to wash of pineapple slices thoroughly and cleanly, and this will wash away enzymes which cause the allergic reaction. But still, some people may face an allergic reaction.

2)Increase the risk of abortion and miscarriage:-

Pineapple is suitable for pregnant women as it helps them from getting relieved from morning sickness. But sometimes it can be unsafe for both pregnant women and her baby, which is developing inside her. Pineapple contains a lot of enzymes, and some of these enzymes can increase eater’s contractions in the early stages of pregnancy, which can increase the risk of miscarriage.

It is safe to consume pineapple in the later stages of pregnancy, but you should consult your doctor about it and include it in your meal plan only on the recommendation.

3)Can increase blood sugar level:-

Pineapple is suitable for people who have diabetes as it helps in regulating blood sugar levels. But still, it is fruit that contains a lot of natural sugar like sucrose and fructose. Although they are simple sugars, they are not so good for diabetic patients when consumed in excess. Because of this reason, diabetic patients should limit eating pineapple, one to two servings per day.

4)Can interact with certain medications:-

The bromelain present in pineapple is good for health as it provides a lot of benefits. Still, it can also interact with some medicines like antibiotics and anticonvulsants, causing trouble for some users. So if you are on these medications, then you should first consult your doctors before eating this fruit.

5)Unripe Pineapple can cause vomiting:-

Unripe pineapple is toxic in nature, and consuming them in the form of juice or as fresh fruit can be very risky for your health and may lead to severe vomiting.

 6)Can interact with blood-thinning the drugs:-

Pineapple is beneficial for providing relief from blood clots because of the presence of the bromelain in it. However, if you are already on anticoagulants (blood-thinning drugs), then you should avoid eating pineapple. Taking anticoagulant medicines and eating pineapple together can have an opposite effect on your health.
